The church of Santa Maria Assunta is found in the lower end of town not far from Marina Grande beach below.
The church is known for its dome of majolica tiles and a 13th century icon of a black Madonna.
It was not open the day we visited Positano... perhaps my rating would have been higher if I saw the interior.
